Cloverdale Citrus Fair
The Cloverdale Citrus Fair began as a typical, small county fair in 1892. As you'll soon see, this event has blossomed into a major community effort, resulting in one of the most memorable and entertaining events in California. In the beginning, the exhibits and displays included little more than wooden frameworks with a few oranges affixed to the structures.  Skills increased and enthusiasm rallied, resulting in more elaborate and intricately designed displays. Today, community members eagerly contribute their exceptionally varied talents with spirited competition.  Local service clubs, churches, schools and individuals vie for the most outstanding entry.

Throughout the years, as the designs reflected the eager spirits of the contenders, the Fair Board of Directors decided that other materials could be included as decorative elements as long as the products were edible foods. Along with the glorified orange, prunes, raisins and dyed grits are included to provide color and texture to the exhibits.

The Cloverdale Historical Society welcomes fiddlers of all ages and expertise and their fans to our 27th Annual Contest. Whether you’re a novice fiddler, a national champion, or a member of the enthusiastic audience, you’ll have a grand time at this all day, indoor celebration which starts at 10 AM and lasts until all contestants have played and prizes awarded (about 6 PM). Included in the one admission donation is the opportunity to watch the competitions in the auditorium, browse the arts and crafts booths, enjoy a delicious lunch in the café, and listen to the jamming going on all around. If you’re so inclined, bring your fiddle, guitar or whatever and join the informal jamming.

Bodega Bay Seafood, Art & Wine Festival - A wild and wonderful festival celebrating the bounty of Sonoma County. Held on the 700 acre Chanslor Ranch, on Highway 1, one mile north of the town of Bodega Bay, this event has one of the most unique and beautiful venues in the county. The festival boasts over a dozen catering companies serving seafood specialties, and other edibles, an expansive wine & microbrew tasting, top quality art & fine craft, and 3 stages of great entertainment. A kids' funzone, horseback and pony riding, and environmental exhibits, all make this an event not to be missed.

Russian River Events - Greetings and Salutations! We are a new website dedicated to sharing all the wonderful events and resources in the Russian River in West Sonoma County, CA. There are many events that take place monthly here at the Russian River in the communities of Guerneville, Forestville, Monte Rio, Occidental, Freestone, Duncans Mills and Jenner.
