Steelhead Beach - This park offers seasonal fishing and river access for small craft such as drift boats, kayaks and canoes. It is an excellent spot for birding, viewing river wildlife and for picnicking. A parking lot with 75 spaces, 3 of which are disabled accessible stalls, is located approximately 200 yds from the launch area. No lifeguard service is available.

Armstrong Redwoods State Reserve contains a primeval forest that was saved from lumber harvesting in the 1870s by Colonel James Armstrong. A quiet road leads through the 500-acre grove. Short trails lead to two trees, each over 300 feet tall. The park also is home to gray foxes, bobcats, wood ducks and the 1,400-year old Colonel Armstrong Tree.
